Starting a new save file in Stardew Valley is both an exciting and daunting task. Players may feel the standard farm is too bland after many hours of gameplay and are wanting a new adventure. Looking for the best farm to start with? These options might just be it.
Four Corners Farm
This farm is considered the jack-of-all-trades. It’s split into four different areas each reminiscent of the best parts of other farms. The top left is a forest farm that has a regenerative hardwood stump and special weeds. The bottom left is a river. Farmers who have a special affinity for fishing may find themselves spending many hours there. The bottom right is similar to the Hill-Top Farm. A small quarry spawns ores, geodes and rocks. If you’re looking to save a trip to the cave every once in a while, this is a gem of an option.
The Four Corners Farm has lots of farming space. Players can maximize their crop profit while not leaving far from home to gather other resources. This makes it a top choice farm.
Forest Farm
This option is game-changing because of its eight regenerating hardwood stumps found similarly in the Secret Forest. With additional seasonal foraging items and unique weeds, it’s really a treasure trove. The charm and usefulness of this farm is something to consider when choosing your next farm layout. However, its additional places to fish decreases the total land space for farming.
The Beach Farm
For the record, this is being included on the list because it’s challenging, not because it’s an especially great farm. This option is perfect for Stardew Valley players on the nth run of the game who are looking to spice up their gameplay. While both enormous and beautiful, sprinklers do not work in the sand. This can make late-game farming more demanding. This farm does offer an easier way to collect ocean fish and beach foraging items, but the Beach Farm is definitely more for seasoned farmers looking for a feat to accomplish.
The Wilderness farm is great for farming, but the constant battling of monsters can be annoying to handle. The Hill-Top Farm and Riverland Farm are both great aesthetically, but are not so great when it comes to farming. They are both restrictive on space, but they may be attractive to players looking to create beautiful farms.
It is recommended to either go for the Four Corners Farm, as it provides a little of everything and offers ample space for farming, or the Forest Farm, as its foraging and extra hardwood can be incredibly useful. You could also consider the Beach Farm if you’re interested in a challenge.
