How to Unlock Stardew Valley Community Center

Six years after its initial release on Microsoft Windows, Stardew Valley remains one of the most successful indie games. An open-ended farming simulator, the title has grown significantly since its launch and attracts new players daily. In order for new players’ in-game story to progress, the community center north of Harvey’s Clinic must first be unlocked. If you need to learn how to unlock it to get started on the bundles, read on.

What is the community center?

The community center is a place that allows players to deposit in-game items for rewards and story progression. It is unlocked after the first few days of playing to allow the player time to learn a bit about the game.

Completing bundles inside the community center grants the player small rewards that will eventually lead to bigger rewards, such as unlocking the minecart and quarry. Completing the community center will allow it to reopen to the citizens of Pelican Town.

How to unlock the community center

Unlock the community center by entering Pelican Town any day after Spring 5 in between 8 A.M. to 1 P.M. in-game time. This will cause a cutscene with mayor Lewis to take place. In order for the cutscene to trigger, it must be a sunny, non-rainy day.

Entering from Cindersnap Forest or Mountain Lake will not allow the community unlock cutscene to occur. The player must enter the town from the bus stop entrance. The bus stop is located just east of the player’s farm.

After unlocking the community center, your character will be able to explore the inside and get a look at the required bundles. The player should walk down to the left while inside to read a glowing scroll in order to get started.
