Monomi Park has released a new overview of what updates will be coming up next for their evergrowing Beta Game Slime Rancher 2. Not only that, but they won the Best Early Launch from Golden Joystick Awards. Having spent a year developing their sequel to a wildly popular indie game, their beta release has received likewise positive recognition. With Slime Rancher 2 having already reintroduced players to a mystical world surrounded by a familiar formula, a recent announcement from the developers hint at new features to arrive.
After completing a recent patch to fix some of the bugs and issues that players were facing, Slime Rancher 2 will be looking forward to a whole new island coming early next year, Powderfall Bluffs. True to its name, it will feature a snowy landscape with glacier mountains and underground in what we can only hope to be a true winter wonderland. New slimes will finally join our rosters such as Saber Slimes and new types of chickens called Thunderclucks. We’re sure to see all types of unique combinations of slimes, puzzles and treasures when this next area is available.
After Powderfall Bluffs, the developers will return their focus on activities players can complete in the game. In the original title, players had plenty of missions and upgrades that they could complete day to day, so in their next update, we can expect to see some new tasks to tackle. Monomi Parks has stated that while the updates may take some time in between, each one is sure to be jam-packed full of new experiences to explore.
The last of the updates that will arrive next year will expand upon the story element, introducing the mysterious Gray Labrinth. With many mysteries surrounding each of the islands, perhaps the Labrinth will answer some of the questions once we have about what happened on Rainbow Islands and the new types of creatures we’ll come across.
What update are you most looking forward to?
