In a move sure to excite fans of both franchises, Overwatch 2 has announced a collaboration with the Transformers series.
The collaboration brings four new Legendary skins to the popular hero shooter. Players can now fight for control of the payload as Optimus Prime Reinhardt, unleash a barrage of bullets as Bumblebee Bastion, zip through enemy lines as Arcee Illari, or wreak havoc as the villainous Megatron Ramattra.
The limited-time event, which runs until July 22nd, also offers free in-game rewards for players. These include Autobot and Decepticon themed player icons, name cards, and titles.
Bobby Kim, from Blizzard Korea Studio’s design team, spoke about the excitement of bringing these two worlds together.
“Transformers is one of the best action robot franchises out there,” said Kim. “Optimus Prime’s fearlessness is a perfect fit for Reinhardt, and I couldn’t wait to incorporate his iconic silhouette into the design.”
Overwatch 2 players on Xbox can purchase the Optimus Prime Reinhardt skin and others individually in the in-game shop or through the Microsoft Store. A special “Transformers Mega Bundle” is also available for those who want to unlock all four skins.
