Dead By Daylight Likely to Get Its First Indian Survivor

The next Dead By Daylight chapter is only a few months away. Each year on its anniversary, the game releases a birthday update introducing a new killer and survivor. Months before the chapter’s release, hidden details of the update have been revealed by Twitter users.

The Twitter account @DBDleaks collects data-mined information to inform the community of details of the upcoming anniversary update. This week they tweeted information about the newest survivor.

It’s important to note that information gathered by data-miners and leakers are rumors and are subject to change before the chapter’s official announcement.

Haddie Kaur already exists within Dead By Daylight lore. The character has been mentioned within many of the game’s Tome entries. She is an Indian psychic investigator that has the ability to see things that others can’t and view events of the past.

According to Tome VI: Divergence, where Haddie is first mentioned, she is from the ancestral village of Mohi. She also has a French-Canadian stepbrother named Jordan.

According to Ancestry, the surname Kaur are of Hindu and Sikh origin.

This makes Haddie the game’s first Indian character. Players have been requesting an Indian survivor for some time.

“Why is there no Survivor from India?” Dead By Daylight forum user Zarr0ch asked last year. “We have multiple of others? The cosmetics and colors would be awesome!”

Dead By Daylight committed to creating a diverse range of characters in the past few years. Director of player experiences Tara Brannigan discussed this topic with EuroGamer in 2021.

“The stories from people are like ‘I’ve never played a game where I got to see somebody who I felt like I related with, but I found that in DBD, and I just want you to know how much that meant to me’,” Brannigan said. “Those are magic moments, those are things that we want to share and to celebrate. Because it makes such a difference and every one of our players matters.”
