Other “Wordle” Games for Fans Who Want More

Is one mere Wordle a day unsatisfying? Do you need some more daily, Wordle-like games that test different parts of your brain? This is a comprehensive list of some of the coolest Wordles out there.

Dordle

Twice the fun of Wordle, solve two grids at the same time in Dordle. Guess only one word at a time, eliminating or finding letters for both solutions. While slightly more challenging than the original version, there are both satisfying daily and practice modes.

Quordle

Four grids means four times the fun, right? Similar to the mechanics of Dordle, guess one word at a time to solve four puzzles. Luckily, you have nine guesses as opposed to the usual six. While decidedly more difficult than the original game, Quordle is a fun challenge for players who want to flex on their friends.

Nerdle

Do you like numbers more than letters and feel left out of the Wordle fun? Nerdle is the equation-solving variant for you. Make sure your guesses add up and use every operation you can to find the answer. The wordle rules still apply, and the game highlights your answers in teal and magenta if they are in the right place, or included in the answer but in the wrong spot.

Even if math isn’t your strong suit (I know it isn’t mine), solving the equation is very satisfying.

Worldle

For all the geography fans out there, Worldle shows you a picture of any country, and you have six guesses to figure out which it is. Instead of deducing the answer from spelling, the game gives you clues based on how far (and in which direction) you are from the correct answer. There are also challenge modes that change the picture’s orientation and eliminate hints.

Crosswordle

If solving the puzzle from top to bottom wasn’t difficult enough, try solving from the bottom up. Crosswordle starts by giving you the correct answer (like “SURLY”) and the box colors for three rows above it. Using that information, try to fill in the grid so it corresponds. But once you figure out where a letter goes, you must keep using it in every subsequent guess. The game operates on a timer instead of a guess system, so it’s easy to see your progress.

Absurdle

It may seem like Wordle is actively out to get you, or that the game has gotten harder since the New York Times took over, but if you want a word game with malice behind it– look no further.

Absurdle takes your best guesses and turns them against you – with every guess you make, the game changes its end goal to make it as difficult as possible.

Don’t worry, it’s possible– they still eliminate letters for you.

Hello Wordl

Just like regular Wordle, except in Hello Wordl you can choose the length of the word you’d like to guess. Ranging from 4 to 11 characters, this could give you an opportunity to use all those 6 or 7 letter words you accidentally think of playing regular Wordle.
